Bonsai, Pomegranate, Punica granatum
The Pomegranate is a deciduous tree with broad leaves. It is a subtropical plant and must be protected from frost. The Pomegranate blooms in summer and produces fruit in the autumn. It must be watered well during the blooming and fruiting stage. It requires feeding throughout the whole season, except during the blooming phase. When the blossoms show, feeding should be stopped.
Location:
This bonsai should be located in a sunny to partly shaded spot outdoors from spring until autumn. It will also do well in a bright, well-ventilated position indoors.
Winter storage:
The tree is not hardy, and must be brought into a cool space, e.g. a greenhouse, where it can spend the winter at a temperature between five and ten degrees. This tree may not be kept indoors all year round. The plant must maintain its winter hibernation phase.
