Japanese Blue Rain, Wisteria floribunda, Outdoor-Bonsai
Spring is the Japanese Blue Rain’s best time of year. That’s when it displays its light violet, hanging blossoms. The Japanese Blue Rain is also quite impressive in summer, with its feathered, light green leaves, which turn yellow when autumn approaches. Its nutritional requirements during the growing season are relatively high.
Location:
It is an outdoor tree. It should be placed in a spot that is sunny or partly shady. In summer, the bonsai should be protected from the very hot mid-day sun. The tree will be reluctant to flower in a shady position.
Winter storage:
The Japanese Blue Rain is planted in a pot but has only limited hardiness. The fleshy roots are very sensitive to frost. Therefore, you should place this bonsai in a frost-free location when the temperature falls below zero.
