Azalea japonica , Rhododendron
The Azalea japonica, Rhododendron, can be evergreen or deciduous, depending on the climate. In colder regions, it loses its leaves in winter. The blossoms appear in May/June. It should not be fertilized during the flowering stage. As soon as the flowering stage is over, the fruiting parts should be removed, and the tree should be fed well with nutrients.
Location:
It prefers to be in the open air, in a sunny to partly shady spot. During the flowering stage, the Azalea should be placed in a cool, well-ventilated spot that is protected from the rain.
Winter storage:
Azaleas are sensitive to frost. In winter, it is advisable to keep them in a frost-free position with temperatures up to a maximum of +8° C.
