Grape Vine, Vitis Vinifera Outdoor-Bonsai
The Grape Vine is a deciduous tree. It is liked for its gnarled branches, grapes and wonderful autumn colours. Depending on its location, it requires quite a lot of water during its growth phase. Thus, regular watering is vital.
Location:
The Grape Vine needs lots of sunshine. Its outdoor location should be sunny and protected from wind. During summer, the bonsai must be protected from the hot midday sun, and its location should be semi-shady.
Winter storage:
Planted in a pot, the Grape Vine possesses only limited hardiness. Therefore, in temperatures of minus three to minus five degrees, it is recommended to place the bonsai in a frost-free room, such as a garage or cold house. The temperature should, however, not exceed five to six degrees. Winter dormancy must be adhered to. Please remember: Fresh shoots must be protected from late frosts during spring.
